Fall is in the air!

Fall is finally in the air in South Carolina. The past few days have been beautiful and that crisp, cool air has been so nice! I am still trying to find a time to take the kids to the North Carolina mountains to go apple picking. I don't know if it will happen this year since we have something going on every weekend for the next 3 weekends :). What is so hard to believe is that in 2 1/2 weeks, my baby girl will be 7! That is just insane to even think about. I am ready for Halloween also! I love the kids being able to dress up and go out in the neighborhood and trick-or-treat. We live in such an awesome neighborhood for trick-or-treating. I am so thankful! Haley is going to be a "rockstar", Logan a beaver (yes, I said beaver) and then Jason and I will dress up but we have undetermined costumes at the moment. Halloween is also OUR biggest day of the college football season! Volunteers V/S Gamecocks!!! OH, I am SOOO ready for this game! This will be the first game we have missed in 3 seasons, but we couldn't travel to Knoxville on Halloween. This proves that we love our kids more then football :)!

Much Love to all, Amanda

Not much new has been going on lately! Just ready for fall to make it's official appearance. Ready for the Pumpkin Patch, Thanksgiving, and gearing up for the Christmas Holidays (my favorite time of year!). I sure hope everyone is doing well! xoxo~Amanda

I've been a slacker....

So, I've been a slacker and have not updated with since we have gotten all kinds of new stuff going on around here! Jason is no longer employed my the railroad. That lasted a long time, didn't it...lol. No, after much contemplation on his behalf, he came to the realization that he wanted to be home and he wanted to be building houses again! Lots of information that was given to him upon hiring with the railroad, was not what he found out once he was there. So, he resigned last Monday. They tried to get him to stay, but Jason said his mind was made up but did ask where we would have been moving to....TOLDEO, Ohio. I could not have seen myself living in Toledo. Never been there, but just by looking at the location on the map and knowing how cold those winters get....Brrrr....just thinking about it! Jason starts tomorrow working with Essex Homes.
I am glad my husband is home. The kids are very excited to have daddy back and it seems like he was never gone. He is back to rooting me out of our bed, leaving dirty socks lieing around everywhere and changing my channels when I am watching something on TLC or HGTV! I still love that man though! He is wonderful (and did get a lot accomplished this week that he was off!).
I started this blog to keep everyone updated on railroad info, but now that is not happening, I may keep it going just to blog about whatever! So, check it from time to time and see what is happening with The Busbee's! Much love to all our Friends & Family during the past 6 months of crazyness! ~~~Amanda~~~

Life is like a box of chocolates.......

Sometimes I will randomly quote the famous Forrest Gump saying "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get". Typically, when I quote this saying I like to speak it in my best Forrest Gump impersonation, which is far from the original but I like to think it is pretty good :). Anyway, life really is like that big box of heart shaped chocolates you get from your love on Valentine's Day. You pick one up and look at it real good and it may look extra tempting and yummy on the outside, but if you bite into it expecting gooey caramel (my favorite) you end up with a mouth full of nasty coconut (which I hate!). Sometimes, what seems like it may be a great idea could turn out to be a hot mess! As you read, you are probably wondering where I am going with this, but I really have a lot of little life incidents that I can compare to my big heart shaped box of chocolates. With future posts I am sure you will see where I am going with it, but for now----I will leave you with my Forrest Gump quote of the day and my other favorite saying of "Everything happens for a reason".

Much Love~~Amanda~~

FIRST GRADE

Haley's first day of First Grade :)

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

Tomorrow=First day of First Grade!

Just a little update that tomorrow, August 19, 2009, Haley will start First Grade! I am excited for her but yet I am nervous for her too! I know that First Grade will be a HUGE change from Kindergarten and I hope she transitions without a problem. Just my little worries as a mom!
I will post pictures tomorrow evening of her on her first day of school!
By the way.....still same stuff going on with Jason 3 1/2 more weeks of field training and then he will be back in Norfolk, Virginia for classroom training. 4 weeks there then 2 weeks in Atlanta. I hope they kindly tell us our location before week 6 of the classroom training (that would be nice, don't you think!)
Much Love to all...........

Haley & Logan 8-8-09
Pipestem State Park
West Virginia

In less then a week, Haley will be a first grader!!! What?!?! First grade? I know you hear it time and time again, but it feels like she really should still be like 2 years old! Time has flown and I don't think I really like it. Anyway, I am excited about the upcoming school year. This will also be the last year of pre-school for Logan. Next year he will start "big school" and I don't know what I will do with myself. I guess it will be time to get a "real" job....LOL!

As for updates on Jason's job......he is still trucking right along in training. This past week he worked a 12 am to 12 pm shift all week. He will come home this weekend and then have to go back to doing that next week. Not so sure he is liking that schedule, but it is only for the training. He is 4 weeks away from going back to Norfolk, VA for more classes. From what he has told me he will have about 6 weeks of classes split between Norfolk and Atlanta and during that time period we should find out what we ALL really want to know....Where are we moving to? I am really looking foward to that! I really hate the unknown!

Much Love~~~Amanda

It is August already!?!?!

We had a wonderful time visiting Jason last week. We started off in Huntington, WV the first weekend, then went to Pittsburgh (Beaver Falls) for the week while Jason took a "bridge class" and then stopped by to visit some of the family in Ohio. It was a great time! The week started off a bit rainy (not use to actually getting rain on a daily basis). But we ended on a nice note by going to see the Pittsburgh Pirates play baseball on Friday night. It was a lot of fun! That was my first MLB game and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I went and bought us all pirates gear so we looked like true fans sporting the gold and black :). We even took a tour of PNC park and that was fun as well. It is an amazing ballpark with the most beautiful views! On Saturday we headed to Newton Falls, Ohio to visit Ronnie's side of the family and attend Alexis' baby shower. We had a great time even though it was only about a 5 hour visit.

Haley is so excited for school to start back. It is hard to believe that my baby girl is going to be in 1st grade. Logan will still be in his daycare/preschool program in the 4 year old class.

Also, for those of you who know about my back issues I finally saw the neurosurgeon on Monday. I got some really good feedback and am excited to see if his plans for me will help. I will be getting an injection in a couple weeks, but in the meantime I am starting Physical Therapy again at a different location that deals more with spine issues. Hopefully, I will get some relief. When I had my injection in 2001 I did not go back to the dr with back problems until 2007...I am shooting for a repeat :).

Well, that is all I can think to update on right now. Exhausted and need to go get some sleep. Thanks for checking in on the blog! God Bless!

Before I journey off....

Before I journey off for a week & half, thought I would share some awesome pictures that Lindsay took today of my kids :) We went on the railroad tracks (to get Jason a picture of the kids in his new element), in the field near her house and out to visit the animals! For all who does not know this, Mr Jerry (Lindsay's dad) has a camel! Yes, a real live camel and his name is Moses and is so darn cute! Haley loved him and if we could have snuck away with Moses, we would have! He also has goats, minature horses & cows just to name a few. I also enjoyed hanging out with my favorite "niece", Aleigha and spending much needed time with her! Haley and Logan loved it too. It was so cute watching them sing songs to her while she sat watching...it kept her entertained for a little while!!!
I'll be back the 3rd of August to update............Much Love, Amanda :() )

Love this one...looks like the tracks go on forever.

Sweet kids on the tractor.

Daddy & Logan fishing!

Today Jason took Logan to Gibson park to fish in the pond and they caught 6 fish. Logan LOVED it and that is all we have heard about. I took Haley to a Princess birthday party and dropped her off while I snuck back to the pond to take pictures. I caught this one before they knew I was there......

Little fingers holding the rod!

Love the expression as he is reeling in his "big catch"

There is the "big catch" LOL!

More fishing.

It has been a great weekend visit with Jason and we hate to see him go tomorrow, but we will be 1 day closer to spending 9 days with him starting Friday :)!

HOME!!!

We are home from Myrtle Beach and had a great time. The kids absolutely LOVE the ocean! Neither one of them had no fear of the ocean this year and well that kind of scared me! I am not a fan of being in water that I can not see the bottom and know what I am touching. Haley's favorite thing was searching for shark teeth! We actually found 13 and Haley found the biggest one. She was so proud of the shark teeth and kept telling me how awesome it was to be out there finding them! It reminded me of being a kid and on the beach with Jerry searching for shark teeth and shells. Oh how memories like that are so wonderful, but also sad to think that I can't call him up and share the memories I am making with my daughter (Just like the ones we made together!).

Anyway, for some great news....Jason comes home tomorrow night for the weekend....yeah :). I am SOOO excited. 2 weeks was way too long to be away from each other and I know the kids are missing him terribly! Haley has a birthday party to go to on Saturday, which will be some great time for just Jason and Logan to spend together. Then maybe later in the day he can do something special with Haley. The negative is the weekend will go by so fast, but the positive is we will go visit him next weekend and stay the whole week in Pittsburg!!! I'm so excited about that!!!

Thanks for reading my blog.....hope everyone is having a wonderful summer (oh and by the way, can't believe school starts back in 5 weeks....wow!).

xoxo, Amanda

Haley loved standing on the balcony looking at the ocean. She is SO my child!!!

On the way to eat at "Crabby Mikes" & play putt-putt!

I love this picture!!! Logan was hilarious "catching a wave"!

Oh, my baby boy!!! This is what I get when I say "give moma a kiss" LOL!!!

My FAVORITE picture of the trip.....Haley searching for shark teeth! So intent!

Haley was excited to get buried in the sand!

We had to send daddy a sand message :)

Beach bound Sunday morning!!!

Well, I am very excited to be beach bound tomorrow morning! Going to leave the house around 8 and go pick up my momsie! Then off to Myrtle Beach....going to hit the outlets first thing (hoping to find some good back to school clothes for Haley-bug) then to our hotel. The vacation will not be the same without Jason, but I am sure we will make the best of it and it will be great to get away with my mom since we have not done that in 10+ years!!!

I really want to thank Becky and Craig for surprising me last night and taking home Haley and Logan with them. I did not pick my kids up until 1:30 and I got SOOOOO much accomplished! Cleaned the entire upstairs, cut the grass, washed all the laundry and did some packing for the beach! WOW, I would be stressing right about now b/c half of that would not be done if it weren't for them! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!! Oh, and Haley loved the blueberry picking. That is all she has talked about (and wanted to eat!). They are very yummy :)

Missing Jason madly! This is the first weekend since he started with NSR (March 16) that we have missed seeing each other. By the way his Friday night sounded, I think he was a little depressed and missing us too. Well, he paid for it today with a nice hangover! LOL!

Anyway, off to start cleaning the downstairs...............I won't blog again until Wednesday or Thursday and I'll post pictures!!!!

XOXO, Amanda

July 9, 2009

Lots of random stuff happened today but nothing worth sharing....oh besides I locked my keys in my car and The AAA membership came in very handy! Thank goodness I have been a member for a whole 3 weeks :)!!! Thinking about going to spend a week with the hubby while he is in Pittsburg the end of July! So, if anyone knows any fun, cheap activites to keep the kids entertained while Jason is working in the Pittsburg area, please share with me!!! God Bless everyone!!!

Playing in the tree in our front yard! All the kids love this tree!!!

July 8, 2009

I thought I would post some pictures to see if I could figure this thing out!!! Hope it works!!! We are leaving for Myrtle Beach on Sunday! Getting pretty excited! I've already started packing and getting all the neccesary sand toys, beach towels & pool toys together! I am sure the Equinox will be loaded down!!! Haley and Logan are thrilled to be going. I know that they will miss their daddy being at the beach with us, but I am sure Mamaw will be a good second choice for them! I am so thankful she is going to help me out...what would I ever do without my mom???
As for Jason, he is in Bluefield, WV tonight....I think he is missing his babies pretty bad! I can usually tell when he wants to talk to me, but doesn't talk. Moments like that are hard for me, but I tell him to keep on....we are halfway there (Living on a prayer....Literally, not just in the case of the Bon Jovi song!!!) He is my hero!!! Hopefully mid-October I will be posting the location of our destination! The place we will call home.....all we want is to be together again and we will make the best of the situation!!!
Peace, Love & Happiness :)
My yellow daylily!!!

Pictures from the 4th of July!!!!
