Back Blogging!!!

I have not posted in many, many months, but decided to look at my blog to see what I had posted in the past and wOw the memories I stirred up. Nothing incredibly exciting for others, but just great little memories of my family. So, as the nostalgia continues filling my brain, I am determined to begin posting again!

What all has happened since January? Well.......I got a full time job with Lex Med Center, Haley finished 1st grade, Logan finished 4 yr old preschool, we went to Sea world, Animal Kingdom, etc. for summer vacation, our neighbor and dear friend, Debbie passed after her battle with cancer, I realized what the meaning of a true friend is, Mom and Ronnie continues to build their mini-mansion (as I jokingly call it), see an old friend from high school, get a new car (which I am planning it to be Haley's car in 8 years....which makes me instantly gray a few more hairs to think she will be 16 then.), Haley starts 2nd grade, Logan starts Kindergarten, and now to present day where Ronnie has been diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma, Jason's grandmother is still fighting right on along with her cancer diagnosis, I had my gallbladder taken out 6 days ago, My husband continues to amaze me daily (that can be in good and bad ways...lol), and it I have forgotten anything....well we are at present day I can add it in.

I think I have used the quote before, "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are gonna get" Forrest Gump. So, so, so, so TRUE!!! I plan to keep this more up to date. Not caring if a single person reads it, only caring that I have the words written down somewhere to look back at and spark that little memory that may have meant so much to me at the time, but I have forgotten about over time!

God Bless ;)

Last day of flag football

So, today was the last day of flag football for Logan, and Jason took him since he had an 11:00 game and Haley was cheering at 11:30. I missed the best game of the season....Logan scored a touchdown! He was SO proud of himself! Jason brought him to the end of Haley's game and he ran inside and told me all about scoring his touchdown and how he did it! I am so proud of that little boy :). Haley is really enjoying cheering and I am proud of her too! She is such a priss out there! Last night at Haley's school we got the opportunity to meet 4 Gamecock football players. This was so very exciting for Logan. He loved it. Took pictures with all of them and even got his Carolina hat fully autographed! Haley met Miss Greenville and thought it was wonderful to meet a "real, live" princess :). I so love the ages my kids are at.

2010

Well it is 2010 and that is very hard to believe! I keep joking with my friends saying that this is the decade that I turn 40 and the decade Haley turns 17. I think my hair will also be totally gray by the time both of these occurances happen! Anyway, Jason and I actually celebrated the new year with good friends and had a blast!
Christmas break for the kids was pretty fun! We started it off going to Greenville to enjoy Christmas with my dad, 2 sisters and brother. How nice was that to have a Christmas with just them! It was a first, but a tradition that I hope we can continue throughout the years! The kids and I spent a day decorating cookies for Santa with Samantha and her 2 little ones, Carson and Owen. On Christmas Eve...Jason and the kids decorated a Gingerbread house that ended up loosing the whole roof (pretty bad Jason can't even build a Gingerbread house when he is suppose to build REAL houses for people to live in....LOL!). The kids got their long awaited visit from Santa with new "BIG" bikes for both. And of course tons of other stuff! It was also a wonderful and surprising Christmas for me because Jason & Haley picked me out a silver locket and put a picture of Haley and Logan in it. I adore my necklace!!!!
I am hoping that 2010 is a great year and we can make many new memories as a wonderful little family :)
Peace, Love & Happiness, Amanda

Fall is in the air!

Fall is finally in the air in South Carolina. The past few days have been beautiful and that crisp, cool air has been so nice! I am still trying to find a time to take the kids to the North Carolina mountains to go apple picking. I don't know if it will happen this year since we have something going on every weekend for the next 3 weekends :). What is so hard to believe is that in 2 1/2 weeks, my baby girl will be 7! That is just insane to even think about. I am ready for Halloween also! I love the kids being able to dress up and go out in the neighborhood and trick-or-treat. We live in such an awesome neighborhood for trick-or-treating. I am so thankful! Haley is going to be a "rockstar", Logan a beaver (yes, I said beaver) and then Jason and I will dress up but we have undetermined costumes at the moment. Halloween is also OUR biggest day of the college football season! Volunteers V/S Gamecocks!!! OH, I am SOOO ready for this game! This will be the first game we have missed in 3 seasons, but we couldn't travel to Knoxville on Halloween. This proves that we love our kids more then football :)!

Much Love to all, Amanda

I've been a slacker....

So, I've been a slacker and have not updated with since we have gotten all kinds of new stuff going on around here! Jason is no longer employed my the railroad. That lasted a long time, didn't it...lol. No, after much contemplation on his behalf, he came to the realization that he wanted to be home and he wanted to be building houses again! Lots of information that was given to him upon hiring with the railroad, was not what he found out once he was there. So, he resigned last Monday. They tried to get him to stay, but Jason said his mind was made up but did ask where we would have been moving to....TOLDEO, Ohio. I could not have seen myself living in Toledo. Never been there, but just by looking at the location on the map and knowing how cold those winters get....Brrrr....just thinking about it! Jason starts tomorrow working with Essex Homes.
I am glad my husband is home. The kids are very excited to have daddy back and it seems like he was never gone. He is back to rooting me out of our bed, leaving dirty socks lieing around everywhere and changing my channels when I am watching something on TLC or HGTV! I still love that man though! He is wonderful (and did get a lot accomplished this week that he was off!).
I started this blog to keep everyone updated on railroad info, but now that is not happening, I may keep it going just to blog about whatever! So, check it from time to time and see what is happening with The Busbee's! Much love to all our Friends & Family during the past 6 months of crazyness! ~~~Amanda~~~

Life is like a box of chocolates.......

Sometimes I will randomly quote the famous Forrest Gump saying "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get". Typically, when I quote this saying I like to speak it in my best Forrest Gump impersonation, which is far from the original but I like to think it is pretty good :). Anyway, life really is like that big box of heart shaped chocolates you get from your love on Valentine's Day. You pick one up and look at it real good and it may look extra tempting and yummy on the outside, but if you bite into it expecting gooey caramel (my favorite) you end up with a mouth full of nasty coconut (which I hate!). Sometimes, what seems like it may be a great idea could turn out to be a hot mess! As you read, you are probably wondering where I am going with this, but I really have a lot of little life incidents that I can compare to my big heart shaped box of chocolates. With future posts I am sure you will see where I am going with it, but for now----I will leave you with my Forrest Gump quote of the day and my other favorite saying of "Everything happens for a reason".

Much Love~~Amanda~~
