Life is like a box of chocolates.......

Sometimes I will randomly quote the famous Forrest Gump saying "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get". Typically, when I quote this saying I like to speak it in my best Forrest Gump impersonation, which is far from the original but I like to think it is pretty good :). Anyway, life really is like that big box of heart shaped chocolates you get from your love on Valentine's Day. You pick one up and look at it real good and it may look extra tempting and yummy on the outside, but if you bite into it expecting gooey caramel (my favorite) you end up with a mouth full of nasty coconut (which I hate!). Sometimes, what seems like it may be a great idea could turn out to be a hot mess! As you read, you are probably wondering where I am going with this, but I really have a lot of little life incidents that I can compare to my big heart shaped box of chocolates. With future posts I am sure you will see where I am going with it, but for now----I will leave you with my Forrest Gump quote of the day and my other favorite saying of "Everything happens for a reason".

Much Love~~Amanda~~

Tomorrow=First day of First Grade!

Just a little update that tomorrow, August 19, 2009, Haley will start First Grade! I am excited for her but yet I am nervous for her too! I know that First Grade will be a HUGE change from Kindergarten and I hope she transitions without a problem. Just my little worries as a mom!
I will post pictures tomorrow evening of her on her first day of school!
By the way.....still same stuff going on with Jason 3 1/2 more weeks of field training and then he will be back in Norfolk, Virginia for classroom training. 4 weeks there then 2 weeks in Atlanta. I hope they kindly tell us our location before week 6 of the classroom training (that would be nice, don't you think!)
Much Love to all...........

Haley & Logan 8-8-09
Pipestem State Park
West Virginia

In less then a week, Haley will be a first grader!!! What?!?! First grade? I know you hear it time and time again, but it feels like she really should still be like 2 years old! Time has flown and I don't think I really like it. Anyway, I am excited about the upcoming school year. This will also be the last year of pre-school for Logan. Next year he will start "big school" and I don't know what I will do with myself. I guess it will be time to get a "real" job....LOL!

As for updates on Jason's job......he is still trucking right along in training. This past week he worked a 12 am to 12 pm shift all week. He will come home this weekend and then have to go back to doing that next week. Not so sure he is liking that schedule, but it is only for the training. He is 4 weeks away from going back to Norfolk, VA for more classes. From what he has told me he will have about 6 weeks of classes split between Norfolk and Atlanta and during that time period we should find out what we ALL really want to know....Where are we moving to? I am really looking foward to that! I really hate the unknown!

Much Love~~~Amanda

It is August already!?!?!

We had a wonderful time visiting Jason last week. We started off in Huntington, WV the first weekend, then went to Pittsburgh (Beaver Falls) for the week while Jason took a "bridge class" and then stopped by to visit some of the family in Ohio. It was a great time! The week started off a bit rainy (not use to actually getting rain on a daily basis). But we ended on a nice note by going to see the Pittsburgh Pirates play baseball on Friday night. It was a lot of fun! That was my first MLB game and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I went and bought us all pirates gear so we looked like true fans sporting the gold and black :). We even took a tour of PNC park and that was fun as well. It is an amazing ballpark with the most beautiful views! On Saturday we headed to Newton Falls, Ohio to visit Ronnie's side of the family and attend Alexis' baby shower. We had a great time even though it was only about a 5 hour visit.

Haley is so excited for school to start back. It is hard to believe that my baby girl is going to be in 1st grade. Logan will still be in his daycare/preschool program in the 4 year old class.

Also, for those of you who know about my back issues I finally saw the neurosurgeon on Monday. I got some really good feedback and am excited to see if his plans for me will help. I will be getting an injection in a couple weeks, but in the meantime I am starting Physical Therapy again at a different location that deals more with spine issues. Hopefully, I will get some relief. When I had my injection in 2001 I did not go back to the dr with back problems until 2007...I am shooting for a repeat :).

Well, that is all I can think to update on right now. Exhausted and need to go get some sleep. Thanks for checking in on the blog! God Bless!
